Lake Louise: pristine, beautiful, full of nature...and getting a new wing to the exising hotel! It looks fabulous even as you see it here in its skeletal form. Wait until it's fully dressed.

Right outside the hotel is this. Say no more.

For the record, this is the existing hotel.... with a flag on top... and a mountain over that. Any more explanation needed, you know where to find me.

You are my sunshine...
On the way to Jasper, which has endless wonderfully scenic mountains, I came across this friendly giant. I took it going 120 kph, of course. There's no other way to catch a mountain.

Right in the town of Jasper are a lot of fun times. Facing these times is this. Nice back yard, eh?

Clearly they do not get many fires in Jasper. This baby hasn't had an upgrade since automobiles were introduced.

Can't talk. Eating. Go to hell.
On the way from Jasper, I encountered a region of Alberta that was burned to the ground. Right across the river from the highway, all the trees were crispy and black, but right beside the highway, this fellow, who clearly has eaten well, pays no attention to the many who stopped in their tracks to draw its attention to them. His antlers were about 6' long. Clearly, everyone who did pull over was pleased they didn't tick this guy off.
