bloomin' pretty
Having driven 4,800 kms east and south, we have arrived in downtown Chicago. While it is steeped in glass and concrete, it's nice to see they've made room for the odd bit of foilage. That's my Lisa; she's my walking libary.

Navy Pier
Navy Pier, for those who live in Winnipeg, or know it well, is like the Forks, but bigger. There are rides, food, bands of a few varieties and a lot of water (it's on a lake, hence the "Pier").

g-force...too....much
It wasn't difficult to ask these kids to hold still.

my gargling foutain
Just outside an office building, we're treated with a lighted fountain.

After waiting for someone to get out of the way of the picture, the fountain started spurting in different patterns, so I waited more, then people got in the way again and just stayed there, so I waited more, then the fountain stopped for a minute, so I waited, then more people came (yes!) and I waited. Then night came and this was the end result of the waiting. That and a crimped toe.

A prudent pic ;)
The Prudential Building, one of the larger buildings in the downtown landscape, is a cool sight from any perspective.

Latest chair from Ikea
When they're not looking nice, these works of art make for great chairs.

They're our friends!
My only regret is not being able to get a closer image of this spider. It was huge! Clearly, I did not wish to become its next victim, so I moved on.
